Jennifer Steingass has a new pattern called Nordic Nights (pattern purchased on Ravelry). I love the colourwork. Very simple yet effective.
Nordic Nights is a beginner-friendly top down, seamless circular yoke sweater that is knit entirely in the round. Use fingering or sport weight yarn for a light weight and flexible fabric with increased wearability through the seasons. This design was inspired by a moonlit forest on a snowy night.
The sweater is knit in fingering weight yarn so you have many choices. A few people used Biches & Buches Le Petit Lambswool and a few used Rowan Felted Tweed. I would suggest Dyed in the Wool for the colourwork.
Speaking of Rowan Felted Tweed.
One thing we were able to save from the Edge was a box from UPS with a bag of Felted Tweed in colour 199. I have decided that I am going to give the bag of yarn away. There are some rules- Open to anyone in Canada and the US
- Leave a comment on this post with
- Your first name
- Last initial
- Ravelry name if you are comfortable giving it
- Hometown so we can differentiate between people with the same name
- The name of a sweater that you would use Felted Tweed for - other than Nordic Nights - that makes it too easy
- Why a pattern? I want to see what you’d make - it will make me smile. It doesn’t have to be a Rowan pattern. Here is a link to Felted Tweed patterns on Ravelry. And a link to patterns on Rowan’s website.
We are going to draw one name and that person will win the bag of yarn. We will draw on Monday February 29th at 7pm. My dad will choose a number and the corresponding comment number will win.
