One Evolution Kit from Wendy will make this great shawl. I'm showing the pictures again because new kits are on the way in beautiful spring/summer colours. They should be here early next week.

Scarf/shawl kit in a box. Super soft, hand knotted colour changing yarn (the colour change is produced by dyeing each colour separately and then hand tying set lengths of yarn together), packaged to work straight from the box.

50% cotton/50% acrylic

Beth's hat is finished and all the ends are sewn in.
Knit in all 21 introductory Woolstok colors, this striped slouch hat is light enough to be worn in any season. As fun to knit as it is to wear.
The 21 Color Slouch is sure to be a hit for yourself or as a gift.

Clue #2 for the Ambah MKAL came late this afternoon. I was very sad because my knitting was at home and I couldn't get started. My chores for the evening are done so I can sit down with a cup of tea and get working.

Magazine 61 offers 30 transeasonal designs in our classic summer yarns including Softyak DK and Cotton Glace. Peace is a collection of classic, elegant women's designs including cable and lace knits. Beachcomber is our family collection which features several designs offering sizes for children through to men.
It's been a long wait. We haven't had a shipment of Rowan yarns or magazines since September but that has changed. UPS delivered to us this afternoon. Felted Tweed has been restocked. Rowan Magazine #60 and the new Rowan Magazine #61 are here.

Softyak DK is used for quite a few garments in the magazine. We'll have new colours in 2 weeks.

Rowan Softyak DK is a blend of yak, cotton, and nylon that has the best of all worlds: the softness of cashmere combined with durability and washability. The darker yak fibre creates a beautiful melange with the dyed cotton.

I worked on Camp today. The brochure should be ready next week. Fiona Ellis and Beth Casey will be joining us this year. They are going to be teaching a class together on Friday that I really, really want to take. You will be dying yarn with Beth and Fiona will help you use your yarn in a fun pattern.

It's almost time to head home. Then I get to work on Clue #2 of the MKAL. I didn't get much knitting done last night. Tonight is going to be different.

We've started to make up our prize basket.

A new kit from Wendy - called Fur.
We are given samples throughout the year and I have a stash of them. I've gone through my box and added to the prize basket.

Namaste Buddy Case in pale pink.

A Namaste Skinny Mini in Eggplant.

This skein came from Madelinetosh with no label on it. I can't sell it but I can give it away. It is tosh sock in the colour moonstone.

This is just the start of the prize basket. I have another huge box to go through at home. There are also donations coming from my suppliers - I'll post pictures as we receive more.

How can you win the basket?

Bring non-perishable food items into the store by Friday March 3.

For every non-perishable food item you will get one ballot.

For a $10 donation you will get 10 ballots.
For a $25 donation you will get 30 ballots.

Live out of town? Call us and we can put a cash donation on your credit card. I can also send a paypal request. If you win, we'll mail the basket to you.

The most needed food items are
  • hot cereals of any kind
  • canned meats and fish
  • peanut butter
  • meat soups
  • canned or powder milk
  • baby food and formula (needs to have at least 8 weeks until expiry left on it)
  • canned fruits and vegetables
  • canned pasta
  • dry pasta
  • pasta sauce
  • toiletries
In an effort to maximize the purchasing power of every dollar donated, the Organizing Committee has reached out to Hamilton Food Share who, through their connections with producers and suppliers and leveraged bulk purchasing power, can convert every dollar donated to the equivalent of 2.5 lbs of non-perishable food products.
If you can help it's greatly appreciated!

Finished Projects

I like to see finished garments. If I have time when you visit I'll get a picture and blog.

Sara and Rita visited yesterday and were both wearing beautiful shawls.

Sara is wearing Winter Cove knit in tosh ASAP - the colour is Rocky Mountain High.

Rita is wearing Salacious by Lisa Mutch in two skeins of fingering weight.

Both Sara and Rita were raving about Lisa's patterns. They are well written and easy to wear.

Sarah has a new hat. Cathy knit her the 21 Color Slouch. It looks great. And it doesn't matter what colour coat you have - the hat will match it.

Soma is a beautiful cardigan from Rowan Magazine #61 knit in Summerlite DK.
This stylish, easy to wear cardigan was designed by Marie Wallin in Summerlite DK, 100% cotton. The great drape of the yarn is showcased in this design, which boasts a wide lace trim around the neckline. This lace detail would make it suitable for the more experienced knitter
There are so many beautiful sweaters and cardigans in this issue. It's hard to choose which I want to make first.

But right now I need to get to work on my Ambah MKAL. There hasn't been much knitting the last few days so I'm sitting tonight for a bit. We have the next episode of Homeland - good because I want to see what is happening but bad because you get caught up in the show and forget to knit.

Log Cabin Afghan

I've started a heading at the top of the page that says Ancaster Community Food Drive. We'll be updating the contents of the gift basket on that page as more yarn, books and accessories arrive.

The Needle Emporium is donating a prize for the second name drawn. A kit to make the Log Cabin Afghan.

Mr. FedEx visited this afternoon with the new Evolution kits.

Diana has been busy knitting. She finished this pretty scarf for us over the weekend.

Pattern: Medialuna Shawl (purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: one ball of Freia Shawl Ball

Making this into a shawl is very easy - you need two balls. They can be the same colour (working in the opposite direction to get stripes) or you can use two different colours. One ball for the background and one ball for the stripes.

I have a bit of accounting to do and then back to my Ambah MKAL. I've finished the first section of Clue 2.

Here's a great new pattern by Tabetha Hendrick for SweetGeorgia yarns.
Pattern: Cumberland (purchased on Ravelry)
Yarn: A Party of Five kit from SweetGeorgia Yarns
With lace that is decadently simple and a construction that flows, this crescent-shaped shawl is the epitome of delight and comfort. Knitters of every level will savor stitches that ease through the beautiful colour gradients.
A favourite cowl in the store is the Coors Cowl. Today's Web-Letter from Classic Elite featured the cowl knit in new colours. This is a free pattern that you can download on Ravelry.
The Coors Cowl by Annissa George (owner of Stitch House Dorchester, an LYS in Boston), has been a favorite CEY project since we first published it in our Web-Letter in early 2013 Issue 273. One hank each of five colors makes this generously sized squishy cowl worked in simple seed stitch.

The original version was worked in undyed Chalet. We now have colorful Chateau and tweedy Palace to mix and match with Chalet for endless color combinations. Our new version is knit in: Palace 5509 Teal, Palace 5504 Lichen, Chalet 7438 Chestnut, Palace 5567 Mermaid and Palace 5578 Sienna. Pictured below are a few more possible combinations.
Orchid Field: Chalet 7477 Charcoal, Chateau 1497 Moss, Chateau 1419 Dusty Rose, Palace 5554 Orchid and Chalet 7443 Adobe
Sunrise: Chateau 1431 Periwinkle, Palace 5554 Orchid, Palace 5557 Powder Blue, Chateau 1419 Dusty Rose and Chateau1447 Stormy Sky

Here's a sneak peek at the new colours coming from Hedgehog at the end of February/beginning of March.

The Invisible Project Bag will also be in the shipment.
The perfect project bag to show off your colourful skeins! Lightweight yet sturdy. Roomy enough for a larger project, it'll hold multiple balls of yarn easily. We think this is the best, most versatile project bag and it's a favourite of all of our staff. This bag is designed to stand up on it's own. Material: Transparent PVC. Easily cleaned with mild detergent. Not machine washable. Height: 37cm, Width: 28cm, Gusset: 10cm. Pointed gold coloured studs. Comes with a detachable laser etched perspex Hedgehog Fibres tag.
I can't wait to see them in person.

A newsletter went out this afternoon. If you didn't receive it (we're still trying to figure this out) then you can see it here.

I couldn't help myself. I cast on another Find Your Fade this afternoon. This time I'm using LITLG. The yarn is very nice to knit with. I really needed to try the yarn to make sure it was of the highest quality if I'm going to sell it :)  LOL! I can justify anything.

Mrs. Crosby has been busy. Her new colours are amazing!! We will have them in the store late tomorrow afternoon.
I've heard rumour that the colours are named after men from her past. I will try and pin her down on this the next time she is in town.

We received a shipment today from Loopy Mango. We needed 35mm needles and to top up our Big Loop. In the box was a hat kit for the Food Drive Prize Basket. The kit includes one ball of yarn, the pattern and the needles all packed in a cute box. I was given a sample ball at TNNA that is the same colour and same lot. I'm adding it too - now a pompom can be added to the hat.
I tried finding a picture of the kit on line and came across this Nantucket Throw picture. Now I want this colour. The next order :)

Imagine a weekend away with someone cooking your meals and making your bed. Oh yeah, you also get to knit all weekend!!

Today I worked on the Camp brochure and it should be ready this weekend. The workshop on Friday is going to be amazing. I want to take it.

Take a look at the Camp blog...

I'm at the point on Ambah's MKAL that I need a longer cord on my needle. No problem. I have interchangeable Addi tips and cords at home. Not a problem until you start looking. I have one 3.75mm tip. How is that possible? I'll continue tonight and get new tips tomorrow. It was a lot easier when I lived above the store :)

We have a new Linen Stitch Scarf in the store. Lynda knit this for us and it looks amazing.
You need the pattern from Churchmouse Yarns (available on Ravelry or in the store) and then we did a few modifications.
-cast on 550 stitches
-work one row of each colour - that way you don't need to cut the yarn

Yarn: Malabrigo Mechita - one skein each of Sheri, English Rose and Musas

We had some left over yarn. You can make the scarf longer or wider if you choose. You can also use the leftovers to make a fringe.

Lynda is working away on the cardigan using the So Fond of Rainbows set. I can't wait to see it finished.
Ms. UPS brought in an awesome box from Mrs. Crosby today. The new colours are so much better in person!
I mixed some Mrs. Crosby Train Case and Lorna's Laces Solemate to make up Find Your Fade combinations.

There hasn't been much knitting this week. I'm going to sit and work on my Ambah MKAL tonight. No paperwork. No phone calls. No Ravelry. Only knitting. I'm almost finished Clue 2 and Clue 3 should be coming out tonight.

Rainbows in the Gorge

The pattern is finished. It is called Rainbows in the Gorge and the designer is Sarah Keller. It won't be available to purchase on Ravelry until next weekend. But I've worked out a deal to get advance copies. If you purchase the yarn we can sell you the pattern.

The cardigan is pictured in a So Fond of Rainbows kit. We are out of this colourway but it will be back in stock on Tuesday or Wednesday.

We have one of the Enchanted Woodland kit in stock right now. This is the colourway that Lynda is knitting. More of these will be in the shipment as well.
Order the yarn and pattern and we will hold for you to pick up or ship to you later this week when the kits arrive. There will be free shipping on the kit.

You need 20 Cheshire Cat mini skeins for the cardigan. From Sarah
Arrange your 20 rainbow colors in the order of your choosing; sweater is worked from cuff to cuff, from C1 at cuff to C16 at center back, then in reverse from C16 back to C1 at opposite cuff. C17-20 are used in the shawl collar. Cut each yarn after changing color.
I have thought of something different if you aren't fond of these colours. Use 2 mini skein kits (2 of each colour).

You can fade light grey to dark grey and then dark brown to light brown. This gives you 10 colours. Then you will start again at light grey and work to dark grey and then use the dark brown. That is your 16 colours. Your shawl collar will be 4 shades of brown. This is just one suggestion - I can come up with many more ways to combine these kits.

Or you can do something a bit more daring. Take 4 different kits and combine them. Here are 2 different options I came up with this afternoon. I didn't open the kits for fear of getting them back in the wrong package. Imagine throwing the skeins on the table and rearranging them. I think both of these combinations would make a great cardigan.

Lynn tried the Linen Stitch Scarf on this morning and never took it off. It looks grey with her Remy Poncho.

Can you believe the weather? I went to work today without a coat. It's amazing.

So I'm working away on my Ambah MKAL and started to wonder why I haven't received the next clue. No one seems too worried that it didn't come out yesterday. Then I looked at her page on Ravelry. It isn't coming out until the 24th. She gave us an extra week of knitting time. Thanks Ambah - now I can be ready.

I decided to show mine so far. If you're working on the shawl then you have the pattern and know what this section is going to look like. If you aren't working on the shawl then maybe my pictures will help you decide to join.
I have 18 rows to go and then I'll be ready for the next clue.

Next week is going to be crazy. There are many shipments coming.
-Frabjous Fibers

-Classic Elite
-a company that is new to us - I will reveal this in the next few days - we'll be the only store in Canada carrying this yarn

We have new colours of Studio Linen from Erika Knight.
We have collaborated with London based Shibori designer Rob Jones who has created bespoke backdrops and bags for us, and inspired our new colours.

Rob says “Shibori is a slow craft, often with many hours of stitching, binding, clamping and pole-dyeing followed by more hours at the indigo vat or mordanting, dyeing and over-dyeing fabric”. Rob’s creations demonstrate his love of fabric and the time spent to produce something original and lovingly handmade, with care and thought put into it.

Like knitting and crochet, Shibori represents slow crafting, tradition and modernity combined and Rob shares with us “a desire to bring something beautiful and different into the world.”
Linen is an ancient, sustainable, natural fibre spun from the flax plant. Flax itself is naturally resistant to pests and therefore practically no pesticides nor herbicides are necessary to grow these eco-friendly stem fibre plants. Flax plants produce large amounts of usable fibre per acre and do not require irrigation.

Linen is durable, soft, lustrous and flexible and will naturally soften with wear and washing.

Studio linen is made from 100% linen.

Cool to the touch, and with a delicate drape Studio Linen is the perfect yarn for summer. With a refined palette of eight essential colours that will work with everything you wear and a clear stitch definition, Studio Linen crafts beautiful garments both in knit and crochet.

Wannietta knit this amazing cardigan and raved about how nice it was to work with the Linen. There will be new patterns coming in a few weeks.

We have many great colours in stock.

The Leafs are on and I'm getting back to my knitting. Maybe I can get a few more rows knit tonight.

Happy Family Day! My morning has been spent adding to the website. Rockshelter Sock is on the website - you to see all the awesome colours that are coming. Rainbows in the Gorge kits are on the website as well.

Now it's time to knit for the afternoon.
I finished Clue #2 of my Ambah MKAL yesterday afternoon. I'm ready for the next clue when it comes out on Friday.

Then I moved onto Find Your Fade.

This is going to be fun!!

Stephen West has a new Mystery KAL starting in March. This one is a bit different - it's about using up your stashed yarn.
Each week starting March 3, you will receive a section of the mystery shawl pattern until the final design is revealed on March 24. Get a group of your knitting friends together and enjoy this brand new Westknits adventure!
Join on Ravelry...

I'm including some pictures from Stephen. This might give you some ideas for yarn groupings when you go through your stash.
Sizes: Medium & Large.
You don’t need to decide a size now. Sizing information and options will be revealed towards the end of the KAL. If you love big shawls that venture into shlanket (shawl + blanket) territory, then there will be a large size for you. If you like a more “standard” shawl size, then there will be an abbreviated Medium option for you. The overall shape and dimensions are part of the mystery.

Yarn: Fingering weight held double. Lace weight mohair yarns are also recommended to add some texture.

Recommended Yarn: Stash bust! Use all kinds of fingering weight & sock yarns from your stash. I recommend using several speckled colors for a fun painterly look.

Yardage: 700-800g & 7-10 colors minimum. These are minimum suggestions for you to work with, but I always encourage you to have more colors and amounts ready to knit. More options = more color/contrast variety!

This shawl is designed to use several colors from your yarn stash. Gather a big pile of yarns to work with for your palette. Gather more yarn from your stash than you think you may need because you can always edit your yarn selection later. It’s best to have a broad range of colors and yardage amounts so you have more options to choose from while you knit each section.

I took this from Stephen's Instagram. What a great hint to see how the colours play.

There's a new video. Stephen is very entertaining :)

We've had a bit of fun with our shipment of Rockshelter Sock. Someone wasn't paying attention when they filled out the brokerage documents at Meadowcroft Dyeworks and they valued the shipment at over $2,000,000. Yes, you are reading that correctly. Two million dollars. That is either a lot of yarn or very expensive yarn. Things were straightened out today and hopefully the yarn will be here late tomorrow afternoon. The website will be updated tomorrow evening.

My Find Your Fade so far. I'm supremely jealous tonight. Beth has a new iPhone 7. We did picture comparisons and her phone takes better pictures than mine. Whenever I can, I'll be borrowing her phone for photos from now on.

We unpacked some new colours from Sirdar this afternoon.

Sirdar Snuggly Baby Crofter Dk is a gorgeously soft yarn with an incredible Fair Isle colour effect that appears as you knit. Inspired by the gentlest colours of the Scotland Highlands, Snuggly Baby Crofter Dk is the same wonderfully soft blend of 55% nylon and 45% acrylic as Snuggly Dk, and is machine washable and easy care. This yarn will also knit to all Sirdar double knitting baby patterns.

Baby Bamboo has been a favourite for baby and adult knitting since it's release.
Specially developed to be incredibly soft, gentle and smooth for Baby, this yarn is a new blend with natural bamboo and wool fibres. It will keep its quality through gentle machine washing.
If you're ready to start thinking about your summer knitting, two new colours of Sirdar Cotton DK were in the box.

We have created this fabulous cotton double knitting yarn for hand knit and crochet projects – it can be used to create designs for all the family from babies to adults and looks equally gorgeous in projects for the home. The yarn is made using mercerized cotton to create a subtle sheen and incredible stitch definition so it’s the perfect yarn for lace knitting, cables and crochet work. This Cotton DK is a classic double knitting yarn that will knit to all Sirdar’s DK designs and is machine washable.
Now it's time for tea, Love it or List it and Find Your Fade.

Today was about unpacking boxes. Ms. UPS brought in 4 first thing this morning. Then Mr. Canpar brought in a big box. We also received a shipment of boxes that we use for mail orders. The store is in a bit of chaos tonight.

Rockshelter Sock arrived and looks amazing. The colours look good online but wait until you see them in person.
This is 86 Gifting and 99 Bequeathed Treasure. Beth is going to combine them for a scarf.
Find Your Fade
146, 144, 65, 38, 98, 122, 133

A box arrived from Rowan with Felted Tweed and Kidsilk Haze.
A multitude of distinct tones are blended, combined, striped, and fully united in the extraordinary Earth Stripe Wrap. Designed by internationally renowned textile artist Kaffe Fassett, it was first released by Rowan in 2007. A decade later, we’re still in awe of the masterful use of color—all hues aligning to create one outstanding vision.

Fourteen skeins in ten different shades of Rowan Kidsilk Haze knit up into this generous, fringed wrap. Over the years, several of the original Kidsilk Haze colors have been discontinued (sigh!). However, the good people at Rowan have found just the right substitutes! If you made it before, you may find yourself wanting to make it again.

Two different colors of Kidsilk Haze are held together in multiple combinations throughout, creating a lofty DK-weight fabric. And the super kid mohair/silk combination has that warm glow we’ve always loved. A truly timeless piece.

The pattern is a free download on Ravelry.

We are well stocked in Kidsilk Haze right now. Don't forget - I love to play with colours if you want to come up with a different combination.

The finished shawl is stunning. People will stop you as you are walking down the street - it is that beautiful.

Kim knit the Earth Stripe Wrap and loved every minute of the knitting. It is so much fun to see how the colours are going to work together.

That leaves a few more boxes to tell you about. I'm going to save that for tomorrow. Now I'm going to sit down and write a newsletter. We've moved from Constant Contact to Mail Chimp. Hopefully this means that everyone will receive the newsletters.

We thought we were unpacked and then Mr. Canpar brought more boxes today. We are stocked on shopping bags for the store and there was also a big box of Debbie Bliss yarn.

We have new colours of Rialto Luxury Sock from Debbie Bliss. Cathy (above) and Wannietta (to the left) made ZickZack (free pattern on Ravelry) with very different colour combinations. You need 2 balls - 1 of each colour.
A beautiful wool blend which comes in rainbow shades with a touch of tweed.
Yarn Weight: Sock Weight
Blend: 75% Wool 25% Polyamide
Meterage: 400m
Needles: 2.25mm (US) – 3mm (US)
Tension: 30–36 stitches and 40–48 rows to 10cm/4in) square
Meadowside (pattern purchased on Ravelry) is knit with 2 balls as well. One ball each of two different colours.

There was another big box filled with Zara from Filatura di Crosa. Who doesn't love to knit with 100% merino wool from Italy?
The Library Vest (pattern purchased on Ravelry) looks amazing in Zara. Our sample is the finished 43" size and it took 13 balls.

Our friends at Estelle Designs sent a great book and ball winder to go in the gift basket for the Food Drive. There is still another week to make a donation.
The next clue to the Ambah MKAL is out. It is taking a very different direction tonight. From Ambah
Your Hale-Bopp Shawl is going to take on a new direction now.

Don’t be alarmed if you use the rest of MC and CC1 in this clue, it is as it should be….

I’m looking forward to watching these grow.

There’s 2 weeks for Clue 3. Not quite as much knitting as clue two, but I wanted to make sure there was time for folks to catch up in time for Clue 4.
It's time to get knitting.

Rainbows

I had my post almost finished when this picture came from Lynda. It needs to be the lead story tonight.
This is coming along quite nicely.  My plan is to finish second sleeve over the weekend and pick up and knit the front border and shawl color next week.
Rainbows in the Gorge in the Enchanted Woodland colourway.

I 'borrowed' this picture from Wannietta's blog.
I took a bit to get going on this piece. I was ultra aware of the gauge - I am normally quite tight in my rows, which would be problematic with this construction as the rows are counted and accuracy is crucial. Julie specifically said to go up a needle size, so I was worried about being too loose.
It is almost spot on, the stitch gauge is a twitchy bit loose, but the length is on target, so I'm not displeased.

We are still unpacking. Today it's a box from Classic Elite and there are two new yarns. The first is called Yuri.

A central leaf lace panel is flanked with stockinette stitch and bordered with more leaf lace to form a sculptural wavy edge.
Generously sized, this rectangular wrap is worked end to end in one piece.
The pattern for Ayame can be purchased on Ravelry...

See all the patterns for Yuri on Ravelry...

A year round yarn in a sock weight that does so much more than socks, Yuri is made from incredibly soft merino (21 micron) and comes in ten tonally dyed shades. The merino is spun and dyed in Peru and grown in Uruguay, where it is certified to be from woolgrowers that do not practice museling on their sheep. The tone-on-tone dye effect adds a subtle depth to the floral inspired colors.
 Hanako is another new yarn.
Cotton and linen combine for a classic summery yarn in a popular worsted weight. The long wearing linen fiber has a subtle sheen and adds body; Cotton adds stitch definition and softness. This yarn gets even softer the more it's worn and the light and vibrant palette is perfect for warm weather wear. The generous yardage per hank makes Hanako a good value.
50% cotton
50% linen
20 stitches = 4" on 4.5mm needles
200m (220 yards) on a skein

There are seven designs for Hanako - see them on Ravelry

Hanako is a true worsted weight yarn. Take a look at the sweaters in the search I did on Ravelry...  There are some great designs - choosing could be hard.

Wannietta sent a close up of her cardigan last night. It's looking good. I can't wait until we have the finished cardigans in the store.
Here is a close up of the twisted stitch patterning along the waist. You can see gradient quality of the greens here!! Frabjous is aces at this.
I left the pic sideways as this is how the garment will be worn. 342 stitches per row makes for rather slow visible progress, but it's coming along!

There were new shades of Fortuna in the box from Classic Elite. This yarn is a great combination of linen, viscose and cotton.
Summery shades with a tone-on-tone dye effect. The same wonderful drape and fabulous fiber combination as self-striping Bella Lino.

Farrah (pattern purchased on Ravelry) is knit in Fortuna.
An A-line tunic worked in stockinette with handkerchief points at lower edge.
The Summer Poncho (pattern free on Ravelry) can be knit in Fortuna.

Outline is finished. All the ends are sewn in and it's blocked. I love Skinny Singles from Hedgehog Fibres. It blocks out beautifully.

Mom and dad (and Lucy) have been in Myrtle Beach for a week. Beth flew down for the weekend. I sent her this picture last night to let her know that the dogs were good.
This is what I got back.
Lucy is ready to head to the dog park.

My Find Your Fade in Life in the Long Grass. I'm into the third colour.
I couldn't help myself. There is another one going in Rockshelter Sock. I thought that I was going to get more knit today but I was busy flipping between the golf and the Daytona 500.

An email came today about Stephen West's MKAL that is starting this week.
We will be holding 2 strands of yarn together to create beautiful marled sections!
Gather at least 800g of yarn to work with for your Mystery Shawl palette. I recommend combining colors you love and enhancing them with something extra special from your LYS.

-Frabjous Fibers
-Malabrigo

There are still a few days before we start. I think I need a few more speckles. I'm going to take my pile to the store tomorrow to see what I can add.

Feed Me! This was at breakfast this morning. Beth said that she is very good and lies down while everyone is eating but she was coaxed into doing this for a good picture. That is one big head.

Beth is on her way home. I called her as her plane was boarding to make sure that she got on. I was afraid she was going to stay for the week and get more golf in.
Dad and Lucy took her to the airport. What a pair. Can you imagine pulling up beside them at a stop light?

A newsletter just went out. We've had problems with newsletters not being delivered so I changed to MailChimp. It is a small learning curve but I think I'm getting it. If you don't receive the newsletter, you can sign up in the top right hand corner of the blog.

There wasn't much knitting for me today. Here is a scarf that Beth is working on. She didn't take it with her for fear of having it covered in dog hair and dog slobber.
It's her Crazy scarf in Rockshelter Sock. When I brought the yarn home she grabbed these two skeins right away. Now to get her knitting faster so we can hang it in the store.

Cheeky. There are 11 new colours in all.

It's going to be a fun week.

I made it to the fourth colour (on the left). To blend in the new colour you work 2 rows of the new colour, 2 rows of the old... 4 times. Then the old colour is cut.
Wannietta's Rainbow in the Gorge is growing and it looks awesome. I love the colour gradation.
